Parent Support Group

At CARD we get questions all the time from parents who deal with different issues all the way from parenting techniques to keeping things romantic with their spouse. A lot of these parents feel alone and have a difficult time navigating that parental waters of autism. To all of those parents out there we want to let you know that you are NOT alone. There are thousands of families across the U.S. going through similar experiences trying to figure out life with a child on the spectrum just like you!

So in response CARD would like to invite you to join a support group in order to share your experiences, trials and triumphs with parents in a similar situation.  This group will be designed to inform, as well as to allow an open forum and safe place for discussion, sharing stories, asking questions, seeking and sharing advice, and so on.  We will be holding groups on a weekly or bi-weekly basis out of the CARD office in Tarzana starting on October 16th, and hope to find a group of committed parents who would like to share this experience together.  Meetings will be held on Wednesdays and times may be adjusted according to the needs of the group.  Each week, we will provide a topic of discussion and guidance from your group leader, but we hope to tailor this experience the desires and needs of each parent in the group in order to provide the best possible experience and to meet the needs of each group member.

Pretty cool right? Here’s how to get more info:
